The Boeing 737-500 is a shortened version with the length of the Boeing 737-200 but the modern technology of the -300 and -400. The first flight took place on 30 June 1989. This aircraft is certified for a maximum of 140 passengers; it is usually operated with 100 to 110 seats. 389 of this version were produced.
